I do not clean my own house.
I own a cleaning company. I have built systems, trained teams, and personally scrubbed more bathrooms than I can count. And I do not clean my own house.
When I said that publicly, the response was not what I expected. A client told me she felt seen. Not impressed, not amused. Seen. Because the thing she had been carrying was not a dirty house. It was the belief that needing help with it meant something about her.
The permission problem

And she has decided that hiring someone to clean would be indulgent, because it is the one thing she could theoretically do herself if she just got up earlier or was better organized.
She is not lazy. She is at capacity. Those are different problems and only one of them is solvable by trying harder.
What people actually buy
Nobody hires a cleaning service for clean floors. They hire it for what the clean floors buy them.
A Saturday that is not spent cleaning. A Sunday evening that does not end in resentment about who did what. The absence of the low background hum of the thing you have not done yet. One client described it simply: she was less stressed. Not because her house was different, but because a category of obligation had left her head.
