Almost everyone who calls us has already decided on monthly, because monthly sounds reasonable and monthly is the cheapest line on the page.
Monthly is usually the wrong answer, and we would rather explain why now than have you find out after your first visit.
The math nobody explains
Cleaning frequency and cleaning depth are not independent variables. Every visit you skip, the next visit inherits.
A home cleaned weekly starts each visit close to baseline. Almost all of the time goes to actual cleaning, so the crew reaches the details: baseboards, window sills, the tops of the door frames, inside the microwave.
A home cleaned bi-weekly starts each visit slightly behind. Most of the time still goes to cleaning, but the details rotate rather than happening every visit.
A home cleaned monthly starts each visit substantially behind. A meaningful share of the visit goes to catching up on four weeks of accumulation before anyone can get to depth. If the visit is short, the crew never gets past catching up, and you get a surface clean at a thorough-clean price. That is the scenario where everyone ends up unhappy.
Our honest recommendation by situation
Weekly works for households with children, pets, someone working from home full-time, a lot of hard flooring, or anyone who simply does not want to think about it. This is where the service gets genuinely invisible in the good way.
Bi-weekly is the practical minimum for a whole-home thorough clean and is the right answer for most households. It is what we recommend most often.
Monthly works when we scope it honestly. That means picking the tasks that matter most to you, usually floors and bathrooms, and doing those properly, rather than pretending a whole house gets reset. Told clearly up front, this is a good service. Sold as a full clean, it is a disappointment waiting on a calendar.
One-time deep clean is the right starting point if it has been a long time. Reset the house once, then maintain it. Trying to reach a deep-clean standard on a maintenance visit does not work.
One-hour visits are maintenance between real cleans, or a targeted task, not a full-home service. We offer them, and we will tell you exactly what fits inside sixty minutes.
What actually drives the price
Not just square footage. In rough order of impact:
- Frequency, for the reasons above
- Bathrooms, which are the most labor-intensive room per square foot by a wide margin
- Pets, mainly because of single-use mop head policy and upholstery work
- Hard flooring vs. carpet, because a multi-pass wash takes longer than a vacuum
- Clutter level, because time spent moving your things is time not spent cleaning
- Access and parking, mostly relevant in buildings
The pets line is not a surcharge for inconvenience. It reflects our single-use mop head and cloth policy, which is a real supply cost on every visit.
Why we ask questions before quoting
We do not have a flat rate per square foot, because a flat rate per square foot means someone is always getting overcharged and someone is always getting a rushed job.
We ask about your bathrooms, your floors, your pets, and what you actually want out of the visit, then we quote it. If your budget and your expectations do not meet, we will tell you which frequency or which scope closes the gap. We will not quietly shrink the service to hit a number.
The one thing worth spending on first
If you are only going to do one thing, do a one-time deep clean and then go bi-weekly. That sequence gets more value out of the same annual spend than monthly service ever will, because you are maintaining a clean house rather than perpetually catching up on a dirty one.
Between visits, the wet-and-dry method is the single highest-leverage thing you can do yourself.
